We had a fab time this morning with our class buddy to listen, talk and read in welsh all about ‘Nadolig’ – da iawn pawb!
Our Magical Woodland Communities
We worked with a partner to create a magical woodland community for the woodland creatures we created. We used different objects and natural materials as well as labelling each part. We then took a photo of our creations which we will talk about and ask and answer questions about back in the classroom.
Hero Party Day
we had an amazing day celebrating real life and superheroes! We had a parade to show our amazing costumes, went on a scavenger hunt, played pass the parcel and enjoyed some yummy treats. We loved our lollies to finish the day!!
Our local firefighters visit to Year 1
Thankyou to Green Watch from Cimla fire station who kindly accepted the invite to speak to year 1 about their role as a firefighter for our learning about what makes a successful hero!
Urdd activity day!
Years 1 to 5 had a wonderful day with Cian from the Urdd who led each year group through Welsh Urdd activities. Da iawn pawb!
RNLI visitor to year 1 and year 2
Sandra from Mumbles Lifeboat came to talk to the children about the role of a lifeboat crew member and about keeping safe by the beach.
Year 1 & 2 police visit
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit from local police officer PC Kris and PCSO Claire. We learnt all about the role of a police officer, what they do and use to keep us safe. We agreed they are successful real life heroes.
Year 1 busy on VE Day
We made flags to wave, paper chain decorations, listened to wartime music and songs, learned about what VE Day was all about and joined in the afternoon party to celebrate 80 years since the end of WW2. Even our class mascot Cary’s joined in!
