If families would like to look at the Book Fair together, the shelves will be on display, in the hall, this Thursday at 3.20 pm. You can bring money, choose a book together and pay on the spot.
Book Fair
The Book Fair is in school this week. Classes will start looking at the books tomorrow (Wednesday). If pupils see a book they like, we’ll keep it safe and pupils can bring the money in by Friday.
INSET Day
Our school will be closed for INSET on Friday, 3rd of May.
Valentine Disco
Please don’t forget our Valentine Disco Tomorrow night. If you are able to attend please come and have a lovely time!
Book Fair
There is a book fair in school next week. Classes will be given time to look at the books next week and decide if they’d like to buy any. Days and times will be shared with pupils as soon as possible.
If parents/carers would like to look at the books, contact the office and you can look at the books together after school.
Valentine Disco
Our Valentine Disco is next week, Thursday 7th February.
There is an Infant only Disco between 5.00pm and 6.00pm
The Junior Disco will start at 6.00pm and finish at 7.00pm.
There is a £1 entry fee and there will be plenty of nibbles and squash!
We ask that all Infants are accompanied by an adult.
If our Infant pupils have young brothers or sisters they can come too if they are supervised by an adult.
Tonnau Junior pupils must know how to get home safely if they are un-accompanied.
We want to keep our disco safe; older/comprehensive children mean our building is too full – sorry.
Children in Need
We’ve just received a ‘Thank You’ certificate from Children in Need. As a school we were able to donate £183; we could not have done this without your support – thank you.
Knitting Bags
We have been given a number of small ‘knitting kits’ by St Anne’s; the church here in Tonna. The kits are here in school and they are free for anyone to collect. The idea is that everyone who takes a kit, knits a small woollen square – The squares are then brought back to school. The church then collects the squares from us and joins them to from big blankets for people in need.
If you would like a ‘knitting kit’, please feel free to collect one from the office.
Parent Evenings
Everyone should have had appointment slips for Parent evenings. If there are any issues please contact us here at school.
Year 4/5 Trip to the Egyptian Centre
On the 15th of January, year 4/5 went on a trip to the Egyptian centre we went on this trip because we were learning about Ancient Egypt. We took part in a lot of fun and exciting activities, such as mummification, learning about the Gods, dressing up in Ancient Egyptian clothing and holding REAL ancient artefacts. Our favourite part was when we pulled all of the organs out of the body.
Everyone enjoyed this exciting trip…..especially the teachers.
Thank you for reading,
Steph, Caitlin, Beth, Ryan and Kai.
